The first sight of the new world - Columbus discovering America

This is a beautiful lithograph  showing Christopher Columbus onboard his ship at the instant that land is spotted. The crew is shown rejoicing at the good news, and bowing in prayer on the ship. Columbus stands steady, as he looks out onto the New World.
